Diabetes info wanted

Just wanted to gather some info on how much, if any, WLS has on diabetes. I have been thinking about WLS for a while when I found out that I had diabetes. That made my decision easy to persue WLS. Thanks for your help!!

Hi Wendy! I had type II, insulin dependant diabetes prior to surgery. Was on 4 different oral meds and 40mg of insulin. After 3 months and a loss of 53lbs. I am on NO oral meds and only 8mg of insulin. Does it have a positive effect? YES!!! Good luck! Rebecca

I took 140 units daily before surgery and I'm now down to just 10 units daily so yes it has a big impact on most people with Diabete! Good luck and welcome.
