I got my letter of medical neccessity and nutrition form from my PCP today and got my packet in the mail to Dr. Chua's office today. Now i get to set my appointments with the psych and nutri. If all goes well, I will hopefully have surgery in Jan 2007. My diet is completed the end of December so I can submit everything to my insurance for approval then. It's getting closer. Wish me luck in having no issues with getting approval.

Congratulations on moving foward! I can relate to all that you are going through, it took a while (2 years plus) for me to receive my surgery date which is coming up on Sept. 12, 2006. I had the psych and sleep evaluations already but ended up needing the nutrionist/dr. approved diet for 6 months when I thought I had that all wrapped up in other doctor visits. I had to start it all over -- and didnt' realize that until December 2005. What a frustrating time! I could have done that months, if not a year earlier had I known the doctor's notes weren't going to cut it. So, while visiting the nutrionist, I was sulking at first.... I was just going through the ropes but eventually I found I was learning stuff about myself and food that I'm hoping will benefit me greatly post-op. I'm happy I went through it. I wish you all the luck in the world and pray that you dont' have any issues with getting the approval you'll be waiting for. Take care, Ann

Thank you. I hope I have an easy approval, but the fight is definately worth the outcome years from now. I have a very supportive groups of family and friends and surgery tends to be the topic of dicussion most of the time. Patience is not one of my strenghts, but I am learning. Thanks for all your encouraging words and I'll keep you posted with my journey.

I worked with a doctor/nutritionist for 6 months to ensure they didnt' have any questions on whether or not I was ever on a dr. approved diet. Most insurances are suggesting that now I guess. Good luck to you! I hope you get all that you need and want soon! After jumping through the hoops, I finally got my date and it's two weeks from today. I know it will all be worth it. Ann
