Interesting... and as far as my personal history ... absolutely true.
Topic: RE: Swedish Medically Supervised WL?
I am starting the medically supervised weight loss program there this week. Dr Lindquist seems like a very nice and understanding doctor. I do not think that the the program is pass or fail... I think rather it is designed to get your body ready for surgery and your mind and lifestyle ready for the change you are about to make for the rest of your life. The people there are there to help you, they are all aware that a majority of people with obesity have struggled most of their lives with dieting. Do not beat yourself up, if it were easy then you would not be considering surgery. Unless you are intentionally trying to sabatoge your weight loss (which we all know you are not), I think you will be fine. Keep your journal and talk to them about your triggers, they are there to listen and to help. Good Luck!

UPDATE!!!
I'm happy to report that I feel wonderful and found a protein powder that has no taste that I have no problem getting down. Looking back on my experience, I feel that Dr. Rush was a great choice for me as well. Even though I had the complications, I would do it all over again!

Topic: Band patient Support Group meeting tomorrow
Hi,
I would like to invite any interested Adjustible Gastric Band patients, (Lap band or Realize), pre or post op, to my support group, "Growing Thin".
Our February meeting is tomorrow, Feb. 26th, at the Starbucks in Tukwila at 9:00 a.m. It's a very positive and encouraging group of about 12 women or so in attendance each month. We hold a very open, non-structured meeting where we discuss living with the Band, share eperiences, and celebrate WL victories .
If you have an Adjustible Gastric Band and are looking for fun, education, and a supportive experience please feel free to join us!
If you're interested, please respond so I can get a head count and send you directions to the Starbucks.
Best~
Lisa O.

Hi Anita!
I just wanted to let you know that my support group is meeting tomorrow at 9:00 in Tukwila at the Starbucks off of Interurban. Feb. 26.
Let me know if there's anything I can do to help during your pro-op stage or anytime. You already know that I'm a patient of McMahon's.
Any questions? Just ask.
Best~

Topic: RE: Got my tickets to the OH event!!
Thanks Oly Girl. I will contact you about information. My daughter usually has an activity I have to take her to on Thursday evenings, but maybe my hubby can get home from work a little early occassionally so I can attend. Thanks so much for the response!
I live in Lacey, Wa and plan on staying at the Hotel too Thorney for fun and a little get away with the hubby. I look forward to meeting people like you, who are farther along in the jouney and maybe being able to help those just getting started. I often travel to Tukwila for work. In fact I will be there next week.
Thanks so much to everyone for making the connections!! Jenny

I am attending OH, and I live in Seattle, but will be staying at the hotel so I can feel a part of the group. I don't know anyone with WLS, but hope to meet many people at the conference. I did attend a support group in Tukwilla one time, and then lost the info on it so I have no idea what happened to the group nor how to contact anyone.
I am 6 years out.
