Carrie, So good to hear you are doing well! I know that after my surgery I had a huge change in my taste & accepting many foods I ate before surgery were not appetising at all. I use to Love to drink a tall cold glass of milk & after surgery I could hardly sip any & it was not appealing at all for about 8 mos! I can now drink a cup of cold milk - usually after a desert or some treat or with cereal.
Did you have your DS surgery laproscopic?
Do you go to any of the support groups?

I am doing great. I just reached 4 weeks post-op yesterday and I made it to 30 lbs lost since surgery. I have soooooo much energy than I did before surgery. It's fantastic. I've been fortunate and haven't had any complications. I had my first run in with lactose intolerance last night but I guess I'll look to the silver lining, better to have learned my lesson early on. Or something like that. :)

Thank you for asking. :)

I had a tummy tuck at  Madigan in May of 2010. It was free, so I am not sure about fees. It is sad if they are now charging!!!!!

My experience was amazing and I am so happy with my results! Dr. Martin is the one that did the tummy tuck and he did a fantastic job! I sure hope it is still free!!!

Topic: RE: Plastics at Madigan

Hi, I had my tummy tuck done with Dr. Martin at Madigan in May of 2010. This was 8 months after my DS revision surgery. I was at goal, so was able to get it done.

Dr. Martin did a phenominal job at both surgeries, and I am over the moon happy with the results from both my DS (Life changing!!!) and my tummy tuck!!!!! He is an awesome surgeon!

I did not pay anything for the tummy tuck or the DS, but was told a breast lift would have to be paid for at about 4,000 if I remember correctly. I opted out of the breast lift, but LOVE my flat tummy!!!!

I would call them and see if the tummy tuck is still free!!! Did you have  your WLS at Madigan?? If so, the tummy tuck should be free for  you!!!

Good luck!!!!

I know the MTF's are now charging for plastics.  It's still cheaper than anywhere else so is still a viable option.  I've know people who've had plastics at Madigan and they were really pleased, and other people that weren't.  I think like anything else, you just need to do your homework.
