Topic: RE: New South End Support Group
I am 3 years out from a lapband to sleeve revision. My lapband was done 4+ years ago by Dr. Oh. I live in the Auburn area and would love to join a support group near me. Let me know details.
Thank you. Cheryl

Hope your surgery went well! I had a hernia repair and extended tummy tuck in October of 2009 and had the best surgical experience of my life!

Topic: New to Washington forum
Hi all! I have been on the VSG board for about 3 months because I didn't know there was a Washington forum. I am about 3 months into my 6 mos required wl diet with pcp which is the only requirement by my husbands insurance (First Choice Health Federal GEHA). I am having the VSG and have already completed most of my surgeon's requirements. I still have my sleep study and Cardiology clearance as well as some special blood tests (to test for clotting of blood, and dna mutation etc). Then of course I have all the pre-op blood tests, chest x-ray, ekg etc. I have lost no weight, I'm type 2 diabetic on insulin and kind of freaking out because I am afraid I can't lose the pre-op weight loss requirement (26 pounds) due to the fact that I have liver problems and he wants that cleaned out before he does a lap vsg. My surgeon is Joseph Chebli, and he is very thorough. I am going to start going to a support group and I think there is one really close to my house in Parkland but need to verify if it still exists. Please feel free to friend me. I am 55 years old.

I am in Tacoma also and still in the pre-op stage. My surgeon is in Seattle but I have been looking for a support group in my area.
Topic: RE: FROM OH! THANK YOU, NORTHWEST!
I wrote a reply, but it didn't repost, so I'm trying to decide whether to repeat myself, or say something new! LOL.
I'm going with a hybrid option. A little repeat...a little new!
Thanks to OH and Bellevue for an AMAZING event! I cannot remember having a better time meeting so many FABULOUS people. I never cease to be amazed by the obstacles people overcome to live a healthier life. I am humbled by their strength and inspired by their journey.
Too all who were in Bellevue last weekend: Thank you for letting me share a little bit of your success. I am inspired and motivated to do more, to live life even bigger...and to buy some new shoes! LOL.
Speaking of shoes: Look out NOLA, you have some big shoes to fill after this conference! See ya in September!

Thank You all for the great OH event!! It was wonderful to be able to get up to date info. & to meet & make new friends. To be able to see others be able to enjoy themselves & not feel self concious about doing things that "normal" people think we shouldn't do. I & my husband enjoyed the event, I even had a love song sung to me by my hubby!! Can't get any better than that!! And it's a first in 24 yrs of marriage. :)
We will be at next event hopefully & will get others to join.
All the OH people & the hotel staff outdid their selves to make us all feel comfortable. Now if we could of had some sun with warmer weather it would have just topped it off.
Oh well that's why I have webbed feet. lol
Take care,
Kathy
