Topic: RE: Revision Question
Both of you please get your booties to support groups. Michaelle lives about 3 blocks away.
Nothing helps like being eyeball to eyeball with others who have done it.
And you, who is NOT THE BUNNY, you saw me lose the wt with your own eyes in 2007.
I'm pretty sure you can do it without Barney's help. I'm not suggesting that part.

P.S. My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
Topic: I had my sleeve last Friday, home on Sunday!
So far, I'm doing great. I can home yesterday so only two nights in weren't so bad but it doesn't compare to being home. I'm already back on all my medicine and with MS if often is a lot. I find taking my medicine slowly with sips of a protein drink works very well for me. I had a great medical team. I allowed the residences to work along with Dr Martin and everything seems great.
I researched until I was blue in the face b(Idreaded this the most)ut that's okay they let you breathe during surgery, HaHa. When I woke up I didn't have a catheter (this I dreaded) nor did I have the breathing tube. I've been primarily confined to a wheelchair for the last five years and I hoped that this type of surgery would improved my mobility. I have walked more the last few days (with walker assistance) than I remember when. I'm liking that, so for me I'm strongly feeling this was the right direction to go in. I wasn't really gaining much but with my limited mobility I felt that I didn't have the one more tool I needed to remove the weight I had.
I'm so thankful for this site and you that participate. I've learned so much. And to those that read this that have WLS upcoming or are doing research for someone else, the best advice I've read here many times is research, research, and research.

Topic: RE: New Group for South King / North Pierce County
Hi Karrie!
Are you doing just an online group, or a local support group also? I don't know why my group didn't show up on your search, but Thru Thick N' Thin meets the 4th Monday from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Summit branch of the Pierce County library (off Hwy 512) . We have people with all surgery types and from all different doctors. We would love to have you join the fun!
The online portion of my group hasn't really taken off, most people just talk on the WA board. We also have a page on Facebook! Just search Thru Thick Thin and it should pop up.
There are two gals just finishing their leader training who will be forming a support group soon in the Olympia area, so all you "way southies" keep an eye out.
There are also local support groups at VitaLady in Puyallup, and one in Gig Harbor for anyone else looking.
Follow the link by my signature for more info on Thru Thick N' Thin.

I'll have to do that. I need to look into this DS surgery. It seems to be pretty popular than what I remember from being on OH a few years ago. I wonder if they do that at the UW. Need to looki into it.
