Topic: RE: Any good Seattle VSG surgeons?
My surgeon does the sleeve, Dr. Lauter in Bellevue. I had RNY because my insurance does not cover the sleeve. But you might want to call Dr. Lauter.

Topic: RE: Regence through Boeing??
I'm working on getting a revision through Boeing Regence Traditional right now and jumping through my hoops. Basically, my RNY staple line has disrupted (non-transected) and my pouch was not made small enough (original surgery in 2002) so for lack of a better description, I need repairs. (Dr Peter Billing in Edmonds) They are working on my insurance approvals now but they don't forsee any problems. I'll have to pay for my psych eval but I expected that. I'm doing my nutritional 6mo thing through a Dietician's office my surgeon works with and they have me on an ultra-low carb thing
Hopfully, I'm looking at a late July, early August surgery and I'll be back with the loosers. If anyone has any experience with Boeing Traditional and revision surgery, please send a note my way. Particularly if you were able to bypass the 6mo supervised diet thing.

I know both Dr Oh, and Dr Srikanth do the DS, and the sleeve is the first part of that. So, they both do the sleeve, but I don't know if they do it as a stand alone procedure (I suspect they do).

I am planning on coming and trying this out! I can't come today b/c I have strep. But, maybe next month...though I'll be pretty new out of surgery. I'm going to get there eventually though, promise!

The surgeon that did my attempted RNY also does the VSG - It's Dr. Ross McMahon in Seattle at Swedish. I would have had a VSG with him, but my insurance doesn't cover it so I had to go to Madigan.
However, I don't know if he'll take a patient that was sleeved in Mexico - you'd have to call and ask, can't hurt to ask.
