The Madigan,Ft. Lewis Support is now at the ACS BUilding on Ft. Lewis,it is available to all pre and post surgery patients,we offer support, understanding questions answered from people who have been thru the surgeries,Madigan is now doing 5 different surgeries so we have people for all of these,
this group is not a part of the Pathway,it is offered from people just like me that want to give back to people who are in need of the surgeries and dont know who to go to,(does that make sense)
We also do surgery friendly potluck and clothing exchanges, which is also very important,
Both men and women are encouraged to attend,
We are in building #2166T,on Ft Lewis,if you can get on base ,,please come
12th and Liggett Ave, across from Waller Hall,,Every Thursday Evening 5-7pm
thanx Redd
I belong to a support group here in the Tri cities (I am from Richland) we meet every second Wednesday of the month (assuming the room we use is open) at the West Richland library (walk in the front and take your first left) at 7pm. Alot of us are Rockwood patients (I had Spitz).
I did all pre-op appointments here (EKG, Chest x-ray, Labs and Gallbladder US). My psych eval was done in Spokane.
It has been a long time since I have been back as my PCP does all my yearly stuff here, but I would recommend them to anyone and everyone! My surgery was 100% perfect, I have never had the slightest complication and my health has never been better.
I have run across people who did not have great results and I think alot has to do with the surgeon as well as how well you take care of yourself post op. You will be in good hands.
Best of luck to you and feel free to email me if you have other questions.

I too am a post surgical patient. I had no complications, prior to the 1 year mark I reached weight goal, will not need plastic surgery (due to great supplementation and follow-up care), and have the tools necessary to be success in maintaining a health life.

Good Luck on your search!

We are a small, but growing group and the meetings are very loosly structured. We may or may not start with a discussion topic but mostly we like to have open sharing, (if you wan to), and allow plenty of time for questions and opportunities to share our experiences with living the banded life.
This group is for anyone , pre or post op, interested in a positive experience and opportunity to learn, share and meet others who know what it's like to live with an AGB.
Please PM me if you think you may be interested in attending our next meeting and I'll put you on the mailing list. You don't need to r.s.v.p. to attend
We meet on the last Saturday of each month at 9:00. We are currently meeting in Tukwila, (near Southcenter Mall). We chose a central location to meet because we have people coming from Salem Oregon, Ellensburg Washington and everywhere in between, east, south, north and west!
Next meeting? March 27, 9:00
Besides learning a lot from each other, it's great to make new friends! I look forward to meeting you soon!
Sincerely,
Lisa O.
