Go to the Mall, as you are walking into the store  look at the reflection of the slender person in the window. It is you!!! It always works for me. You might also try a support group.

Topic: RE: Hospital Stay
Hi there!  What hospital are you going to be at?

I had some complications so I was in for 5/6 days and I had a revision so don't go by my experience.

I found that having a neck pillow helped a lot.  Also once you get the OK to have fluids, I found that diet Snapple peach tea tasted WAY better than water.  Cell phone for sure.  The clothes you wear to the hospital should be the clothes you wear home so you don't have to keep track of anything.  Wear big loose pants and a baggy shirt.  When you get picked up to go home make sure you have a big ol pillow to hold against your belly.  I had my surgery open but even if it's lap it feels good to have something to hold against your belly when going over bumps.

For me that's all I needed.  I was bored.  TV didn't work in my room and I had no desire to read or anything.  Most people are staying 2 days and going home on the 3rd day.  Depends though.

Good luck!  You'll do great!

So, as many of us go through, I am having a tough time seeing myself as smaller.  I know and can see that I am now in a size 12, but still see that I have SOOOO much more to go.  I don't, and I know this but don't SEE it that way.
Does anyone have a counselor or something that has helped you get through this time?
Thanks

I delivered 6 weeks early a 5lb 15oz lil boy:)  After spending 2 months on bed rest in the hospital and Mason spending 11 days in the NICU, we're both home and doing great!  Mason is getting bigger and gaining weight like he should.  Now it's my turn to lose this weight!  It's tough to get back on the band wagon...I CAN do this!

She was on Facebook a couple weeks ago.  She said she has been at her mom's in Arlington, I think.  She has been e-mailing Marilyn...I haven't heard from her though.  Atlease she's ok, or living anyway.

Mary, you are in my prayers at this time.  I am so sorry for your loss.

I have always wanted to try Karate, my brother has a 2nd degree black belt in Tae kwon do, I believe, and my Dad got up to brown belt about 30 years ago and I always thought it would be cool and great exercise, but never had the confidence to try it.  How do you like it?

Bernadette, thanks so much for that.  Tell your niece I wish her the best and a speedy recovery!  If she is willing I would like her to message me on here and we can share stories once she is feeling up to it of course!

I think she moved out of our area, but not sure. I would hope she would still post though. I hope everything is okay with her.
