6/08/2011 - I've lost 155 lbs! size 8-10
Thanks, we do not have a gym membership, its a money thing but might do it as a birthday gift to myself. Walking is good and now that the sun is out more, we will difinately be able to do that! The jogging thing is a long story but essentially before WLS I couldnt do too much strenous exercise because i would throw a migraine from the pressure. It is the same, if i cross over the tiny bit from brisk walk (no really head pressure) to light jog, within just a few minutes i have myself a migraine. My head gives out before my body does.
I would be very interested in the mommy & me classes...going to google them now..Which YMCA do you belong to?

I have only participated in one race so far but I am one of those that try to have PRS. I dont compete against anyone but myself. Yes, i think it would be nice to meet up at one of these event. The one I am training for right now is the Family Challenge that is happening at the end of April. Maybe I will see you there
I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has had any plastics done at the U. I've had a Lower Body Lift done with Dr. Egrari. He did an excellent job but since I am self pay it really took a bite out of my savings.
I'd like to have an upper thigh lift as I still have a lot of loose, excess skin in the upper thighs. I'm working to exercise and tone as much as possible, but I don't believe it will improve much more. I friend from Texas mentioned getting her plastics done at a "teaching" hospital so that's where my thought comes from. Any advice would be appreciated.
Don't know why I don't visit here more often. Got hooked on the Over Fifty Forum (age wise) years ago and that has become my home.
Hope all are doing well. And to those starting this journey. . . It the best decision I've ever made. I had LAP RNY in 2005 and have lost 160+ lbs. I'm living life fully for the first time in many years. I travel extensively and relish having my twin grand daughters sit in the lap that I didn't have 5 years ago! Gone are the high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, stress incontinence and breathing difficulties. I even delight in using the airplane bathrooms just because I can! I no longer have the embarrassment of asking for seat belt extensions or worrying about being asked to buy another seat. . . .Life is good!

Here's to fitness!
thank you so very much for sharing. I am keeping you in my prayers. hoping that things will get much better. I may not have any plastics. But in case I do I will listen to what you have said. thanks again.
My surgery didn't go so well. I ended up with a "bleeder" on the inside and 12 hours after the first surgery I was back in surgery being completly opened up to find what was bleeding. Because of this second surgery I ended up with necrosis (dead skin) which gave me a hole in my abdomen that eventually required a wound vac. I have been on the wound vac for 5 weeks, but should be done with it in about 2 weeks.
So if you have an opportunity to actually see a plastic surgeon, and not your RNY doctor, I would recommend it.
I love Dr. Carter but I kind of think I would not have had this problem if I had seen an actual plastic surgeon.
In answer to your original question all you need to do is see your gastric bypass doctor and he will do the referral for you.
Best wishes,
Fran
