With Dr. Egrari's surgery I too stayed very close by for 3 days. Then I was doing so well by the 5th day he said I could head home to Kennewick. My husband was my "nurse" and he did a great job. I still owe him big time for the "drain cleaning and emptying" not a pleasant job in anyone's mind.

Hello everyone. I live in Washington and will be having the DS surgery soon and I just wanted to see if there was anyone on here to talk to about it. I am very excited about this upcoming surgery, but also very nervous. I am hoping to find people who know what it feels like to be in this situation. Can't wait to hear from you,

Leigh

Their prices were good per procedure, but the value went down, as more things are needed. Paying OR and anesthesia fees multiple times would offset the good prices.

The only other surgeon I checked with near there, was Dr Dry, because he has a lot of experience with post WLS skin. His prices were on the high side (at least $60,000 for arms, tummy & legs) but I saw many pictures of his work, and he is an artist. There were no settling for "plain panni w/o a belly button" pictures, but some of the best work I've seen. If I could justify spending that, I'd like to go back to him.

I can get those same procedures done for roughly a third or half of that in another country, but still want a good surgeon, and know I'll be inconvenienced a bit more going farther away. Thing is, even in Seattle, I was told to stay right near them at a hotel with a hired nurse after the surgery anyway, as living an hour away was apparently still too far.

HI Mary, We miss you on OFF! I had a lower body lift by Dr. Egrari of Bellevue. He's fantastic, almost an artist at what he does. However you do pay for what you get! I'm looking to have my inner thighs done next year and am considering going to U of W hoping it will be less expensive. Just checking everything out. My insurance, Uniform Medical, wouldnt cover my RNY 5 years ago tho they do now so I'm sure they won't cover any excess skin removal. The phrase in the insurance booklet at the time  was "Even if medically necessary we WON'T cover it." Great huh? Love those caring insurance companies. My LBL was self pay and over $14,000.00. thanks for your input.

 Been saving these

1.  Went to a clothing store - was looking for pants and the clerk said - honey this is the plus size rack you need to look over there for the smaller sizes

2.  Went grocery shopping with my 18 year old.  A person I had not seen in about year did a double take - came back around the isle and said 'wow...I don't know what you did but you look lovely - I thought your son was with a girlfriend.'  My son laughed then thought that was weird.....

3.  Size 8s are getting small

major closet cleaning is due

 Hi Karen
Good to hear from you here on the WA side.  I had PS before and learned a few things that I will take with me should I go there again.
1.  Don't let them talk you into another procedure that is far from what you went in for.  That happened to me (Dr. Stephen B. Anderson - Bellevue).  I will never go back to him again.
2.  Don't let them be distracted by their own private issues (1994).  I went to a PS that was with my healthcare company and his wife was undergoing kidney issues.  My procedure suffered because of it.

Now - will I go back for more PS.  Maybe.  I have heard great things about
http://www.psplasticsurgery.com/plastic-surgery/
My sister-in-law worked for him and has had work done by him.  He takes his time and is very good.

Doing too many things at one time does put your body and recovery at risk.  We want it fast and dare I say cheap but the cost on the other side may be too great.

Plan on about 10K at least and have them stop at the price that will work for you.

I also learned - you CAN deal with the price a bit when it's out of pocket.
Also - make sure your insurance will not cover.  You never know.

good luck

I really appreciate you adding to my "info folder" before I make a special trip from Kennewick to Seattle and pay for a consultation. One more question. Don't know if you'll be able to provide the answer. Do you get any "feel" for cost as compared to someone like Dr. Egrari?

Topic: I am back from Vacation
Hi... I just got back from a wonderful vacation in Mexico!

I also took the training to be a Certified  Scuba diver!!  I spent a week in a bathing suit... and I felt so good about myself... AND was able to get into a wet suit almost every day.

I am still amazed how much easier it is to get in and out of boats and the pool now that I am almost at my goal weight.

I am SO gratefull I had this surgery!!
