Topic: Missed group tonight but GOT MY DATE!!!
I am so sorry I missed the group in Marysville tonight, I will make it one way or another. I was so tired when I got back from Bellevue I had to wind down. But through it all I have my date... June 8th... 49 days from today and I am excited.
We talked about everything today at my appointment including that I am high risk for this surgery since I had another procedure 13 years ago. it was a Nissan Fundleoplication for Reflux Disease. So this is kind of considered a revision to RNY in clinical terms, I do not care what they call it as long as it gets done.
So I will be joining many of you on this journey very soon and I love it.
Thank you all so much for your compassion, stories, rants and raves because it has given me a great view into what I will be facing, and who better to get the info but from the source...
Thank you.........

I am getting excited 2 weeks from tomorrow!! The rooms look nice and big, how were the nurses and staff? My husband is planning on staying with me so that will be nice.

How did it go? How is the weight loss going? Do you think it was a better choice than the other weight loss surgeries? Thank you so much for writing back and letting me know. This will ease my mind a whole bunch. I hope to hear from you again soon!

Sorry it took so long to reply, it's been a busy week. The surgery went great. I had some problems with my oxygen levels the first few days. I went to the special care unit after surgery instead of the regualr nursing ward. They came to the conclusion that I probably had undiagnosed sleep apnea as my levels would only drop when I slept. My surgery was on Tues. and I went home Sat. morning. Pain wasn't too bad. It just felt like I had done a bunch of sit ups. Weight loss is going well I've lost 60 lbs. I did have a hard time at first adjusting the diet they give you in the nutrition class to fit the DS. A few trips to the ds board on here and I figured it out. I think this choice was the best choice for me and am very happy with it.

Topic: RE: yay! Support Group in Marysville... join us!
Hey gang,
Just a reminder that we will be meeting for a walk/meeting tomorrow evening at 5:30 @ Grandview Village rain or shine! We will walk from 5:45 to 6:30 (we will wait a few minutes before heading out for anyone who might be running a few minutes late and to stretch). I'm also going to propose that we meet from 6:30 to 7:30 instead of the usual end time of 8 pm for this session. I'll be bringing another WLS friendly item for you all to sample and of course there will be plenty of time for discussion. Hope to see you tomorrow, if not our next meeting is on May 7th- :)

The last meeting was my first time. This was a great group & I really enjoyed meeting everyone. Due to work time, I won't be able to make it to the walk, but I will be there for the meeting at 6:30.

I don't know why I was thinking that the meetings started at 6:30. That's awesome that they start at 7, I'll have plenty of time to get there even if we're running a few minutes behind getting out of work. I'll plan on trying to be there next week then. I had to pull out my calendar to see when the 3rd Wed. is. lol Thanks Linda, I'll look forward to meeting you.

Angie,
The meetings are the third Wednesday each month, from 7 to 8:30pm. The let out time is questionable usually later.
I hope to be there.
Have a blessed day!

Topic: RE: Looking for a VSG South Seattle support group or mentor
Hello! I'm not on OH much anymore, but I happened in to check on the date/time of Dr. Srikanth's Support Group.
I had VSG 11/18/2008 and have lost 208 pounds to date. I'd be happy to chat/email/support you. Send me a email at [email protected].
