Topic: RE: Brand New - Need Private Pay Advice (Medical Loan)

If you belong to a credit union, you can talk with them and see what they have to offer. I know I was able to take out a loan against the value of my car with a very low fixed interest rate due to the fact it was for medical purposes.

Hope this helps.

I didn't have my surgery with him because I lost my insurance but I have heard so much more than is posted here that he is a great doc. From the two times I met him he was GREAT! Staff is awesome and very professional! He did do my EGD and was great also, he is a truly caring man!

Topic: Newbie sort of, Group Health Insurance
Hello everyone, I have been absent for a few years, but am back with a vengeance! I got a job with Group Health about a year ago and found out they do different weight loss surgeries. I love it because I work close with the docs and my pcp is friends with a lot of eastside docs because she grew up in Bellevue. Needless to say, she met the surgeon and said he can't wait to do my surgery, I know that I am approved, I am not going to think the other way. It is a pretty short process with them and has changed so much over the years from what I hear. Even if you haven't done the weight loss program, they will still do the surgery even if you are going through the diet process. So my question is, who has had a Group Health doctor do their surgery? What type of surgery? Who was it? I heard Dr. Bock and Landers???? Might have them misspelled.....I kinda want to know everything. I am going to go to their support group which is the third thursday of every month. I am probably going to be at Bellevue because that is where my pcp is and their is a surgery center there. Anyway, any up to date info would definitely be appreciated ! I missed everyone, you guys were always so supportive!!!

I am STUCK at 160lbs, but exercise is still escaping me, we are short selling our house, but that is such a good thing (for us). But am wearing 29 inch waist. We moved to North Tacoma, kids are great, hubby is great. Health is good, need to go pay for another follow up (not having insurance sucks). Bought roller blades and have high hopes...never knew life could be this much fun (well i did  but i forgot)...

You fight it all the way to the end, you make sure you give your lawyer all your paperwork from your Dr's and make sure your Dr writes a statement as to why this surgery is necessary for your survival! Oh and make sure you bring copies yourself to court just in case your lawyer "loses" the documentation!

I wish you all the luck in the world!

My daughter keeps reminding me to remain positive. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hopping for the best.

Just a small update...
I got a message from my PcP's receptionist after missing my Doctors call. She wanted to know what Bariatrics program I was considering; Rockwood or U of W. I told her if Rockwood would except my insurance I would love to go there but, I have to make the trip to Seattle because of insurance coverage...

I'm thinking that might be good news...that's all I can think about today.

Thanks again for the encouraging words and support.

I don't have any advise... but I did just see some thing on TV recently about medical loans.. and the biggest thing they said was NOT to get behind in your payments... since some of these companies have huge fees if you miss or have a late payment.
