Thanks. I don't plan to have the inner thigh work done before next summer. Does it matter when I have my consultation done? I want to get all of the info so that I know what cost I am dealing with. However, I don't want to have to redo the consultation if it is just good for a certain amount of time. Does that make any sense to you? Sometimes tests and labs are just good up to a certain amount of time before you have the surgery. I don't know if consultations are the same. I hope not.

Kathy, thanks for the info. Who would I contact at U of W about the inner thigh proceedure that I need? I don't anticipate doing the arms and breasts tho like my older brother said, "Kind of like painting one room in the house isn't it?" How true!

Karen , I too have Uniform & they wouldn't cover my RNY , so I was self pay . The next year they started covering it . I had my tummy tuck @ UW through the residency program . I felt like I had wonderful care . I would go through their program again & probably will . I have other things that need nipped . Lol .

I used our local "dial a ride" handicapped  transport while going to the first 2 weeks of PT. Best wishes to you. The first 3 weeks were the most difficult.

Hi Karen , Thanks for your well wishes . I have been driving since I was 2 weeks out . I started PT last week & that went well . I don't dare take a pain pill & drive , since i'm driving myself . I wait until I get home . You're right , at least next time i'll know what to expect . This time I had no idea .

According to Nikki, it depends on the theme/menu.   You can pretty much figure the cost will be the same as if you went out to a nice dinner but it will be a lot more fun and you'll learn a lot, door prizes,  get free samples, etc....    Plus, it'll be great to meet some of the people we've been posting with from the site and put personalities with the screen names/ avatars.   I'm really looking forward to learning about cooking new things and Nikki really has awesome recipes she develops.

Topic: RE: MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!
The magic combination for getting WLS is having a surgeon who accepts Medicare/Medicaid, a hospital who does the same AND is a Center of Excellence. Overlake Medical Center finally got their COE designation at the beginning of this year. They have 3 surgeons working out of their hosptial, all of whom accept Medicare. Medicaid is a special case - best to check out their Bariatric Surgery page and get in touch directly with the coordionator. There are 2 physicians who do GBS out of Virginia Mason for Medicare patients, but only Dr. Hunter does a lap procedure. At St. Francis, only Dr. Aparovich accepts Medicare. Provider lists can be accessed directly via the Medicare website or by calling them directly. They are super nice and easy to talk to.
