You're a Godsend!  Just knowing there are folks out there who have had it done, who are experiencing what I am right now - and folks who are just starting the process has made this site number one in my book!

With folks at every stage, it really helps me figure out some issues before they occur.  Also, I will be attending the support group on Thursdays!

My number is 362-2328 - and thank you!!

Hi from Spokane!   I'm pretty close but I would not be a good one to walk with.  I exercise at weird times of the day because I work a swing shift.  I'm here close by though and would be willing to talk with you.  PM me if you're interested!

Looking into plastics now.   Would like a lower body lift, thigh lift, & boob job.

Topic: Walking buddy near Cheney?
Hi. My surgery date is June 2 and I'm trying to make plans now for exercise.  Due to some vision loss (unable to see side to side), I decided to allow my license to expire.  I'm sure animals and people alike are thrilled over that decision!  Anyway, I'm hoping to find a walking buddy/talk buddy.

I currently have one friend who is very judgemental and has told me that I could die during this, that I'm silly for doing this, and that it is unfair that I can get the surgery done for free (we won't go there)  I simply explained I had co-pays to make and dropped the subject.  Said friend said that when I lose my first 50 pounds, she'd take me out for cake.

I do have many friends (real ones), but most do not understand the weight issue.  My family, fortunately, is very supportive, but alas, they live several states away.  Positive friends will have a lasting impact...gads, I'm going on and on...basically, is there somebody out there that can use a walking buddy as well as a buddy to talk to on the phone?
Thanks,
Kathy

Topic: RE: surgery in two weeks - and nervous but excited
Thank you - I'll look into that.  I already have a water backpack (equipped with a straw), but I really want to keep track of how much I drink.  Glad to know there's a fellow hiker/nature lover out there!  I'm really looking forward to being far more active in the woods - I'm already planning a trip to take place a year from now - going to Glacier National Park and hiking to Canada using the highway to the sun road - there are two other couples interested in joining us - each time I hike a tad bit farther, I'll consider it as a hiker in training!  ...Hey, think that monitor would work with my trek water pack?
Thanks for your helpful reply,
Kathy

If you use a camelback water resevoir when hiking, there is a monitor that you can get for it that shows how much you've drunk, and I believe it can be programmed to remind you to drink.  I got one but haven't had an opportunity to use it yet.  I got mine at REI and I believe it was around 40 bucks.

Last time I spoke with Jenene she was working on the Facebook page.  That was a couple of weeks ago so I don't know what progress she has made.

Karen , you'll need to contact the contact person & talk to her , because things may have changed since I went through it . It may not be the same person , but the phone # should be the same . My daycare lady just had a face lift through this program . How it went with me was they sent me some info , I was put on a waiting list . When my name came up , they called & I got my cosultation date . You have to pay for the consultation . Then you get your pre-op date , surgery date , etc....

They only do their residency procedures ala carte , meaning one procedure at a time . But , you can make a deal where the chief surgeon (who's there anyway) does one procedure & the resident does one . The benefit is you'll save money on the OR . You'll pay more for the chief surgeons part . That's what my daycare lady did . I'd just call the # & ask how it works ,now . In case they've changed anything .
