Moving to Washington

Hello everyone, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jaimee and I have been a member of OH for 2 years. I had my surgery last November 29th and am down a total of 155# from my highest (115 since November). I am 15# from my goal and have met my surgeon's goal. I currently live in Ohio. I have been here for 7 years. I am originally from Everett, Wa. I am looking for information on surgeons around the East side of Seattle. My husband will be working in that area so I imagine we will live around there too. I need someone who will do follow up care on another surgeon's patient. I have no complications so far and just really need my blood work monitored and someone knowlegable about RNY. Preferably this would be someone who has an on-staff nutritionist. I would also like to find a WLS friendly family doctor. The last thing I want is to walk into a doctor's office and be faced with hostility. I have had enough of that to last me a lifetime. I am also interested in support groups out there. I have been leading a support group here in Ohio since about February. We have a great group. I will really miss it when I move. I know one of the keys to being successful as a post-op is attending support meetings. If anyone is willing to share information that will help me get established out there I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much, Jaimee

Welcome back home to Washington. My surgery was in Mexico, so I don't have a local surgeon to follow-up on me. My medical coverage is Group Health, last week my doctor's office suggested I get in touch with their WLS program and get follow-up there. Haven't done it yet. Jaimee, My surgeon moved to Seattle a couple of months ago. He is awesome. His name is Joseph Chebli. I believe the other reply to your message has his number and his address is posted here on OH under surgeon's in Washington State. Good luck, Kathy

Kathy, I have talked with Dr. Chebli!! He is in with Dr. Weber and seems to really know his stuff and care about the patient. I called cause I was having some pain when swallowing and Dr. Weber was out of town. He called me back about 3 times that night. I was very impressed with him.

Dr. C is an excellent surgeon with great beside manner too! I'm glad that he did my surgery but was sad to see him move a month later (his wife got a surgical fellowship out there - she is an orthopedic surgeon). Kathy

I like Dr. Billing in Edmonds. And I like the nutritionist in the office - Melanie. Dr. Billing does both lapband and RNY.

Hi Jaimee, Welcome back to WAshington! My surgeon was Dr. David Lauter of Kirkland and I highly recommend him. I don't know if he performs the service you need but I'd give his office a call. Mai and Berlin in his office are very nice and helpful. Good luck, Karen
