This is an update to Tom Annonymous's condition. I just got off the phone with Holly, Tom's wife. He had another surgery today (his fourth) because when the nurses (I guess) were moving Tom today, his tube fell out that they had in that filters the bile. They tried for an hour to get it back in but were unsuccessful. So they took him back into surgery. Dr. Hunter told Holly that he didn't know if Tom would survive the surgery. He was in surgery for 2 1/2 hours today. They were trying to find the source of his infection but they weren't able to. He is still sedated which he has been all week. Holly was still waiting to see Tom after he came from surgery but at the time I talked to her she still hadn't seen him. If you would like to send him a get well card, it can be sent to: Virginia Mason Hospital Tom Burns Level 6 Room 11 P.O. Box 900 Seattle WA 98111 His surgery support page can be found at: http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/status.phtml?N=a1101981937 Holly said she will be staying with family in Orting and won't be able to stay with Tom all the time now. She also said she will be going back to work because she has used up all her sick and vacation time. She returns to work on Wednesday. Please say a prayer for Tom to get well really soon, and please pray for strength for Holly. Arlene

I hope Tom will pull thru all of this. My friend Debi had a terrible time after her surgery. She too developed a terrible infection after her surgery. She was in and out of the hospital too. They finally found out what the problem was and she is doing fabulously now. When I ask her if she would do it over she is very hesitant. Her husband says no way. Hang in there Tom and Holly. Tom is in good hands and they will find the infection problem. You are both in my prayers. God bless, Pamela
