I forgot to inquire if I am absolutely foolish to think I will only need two weeks off of work after my Lap surgery? That is providing everything goes well. I am a city bus driver. Sit alot. Thanks for the input, Pamela

Thank you Debbie for your reply. That is what I hope I can do. Maybe not work a whole 10 hour day but maybe a split day. How are you doing? Has it been really hard to stay away from the food? Take care, Pamela

Hello Pamela, You know the only time it is hard is when I encounter some stress...Then I just remember that it won't fit anyway so not to get to excited. I am a Dr Oh patient and he doesn't let us eat solids untill 1 month out so by the time your done it is 5 total weeks, So I just try and not think about it. I havn't had much nausea or throwing up so I feel very lucky. Truely, food doesn't look good, today is my birthday and honestly I am missing my normal plate of spagetti....but I took a nap with my grandson and decided that it was the best birthday ever. The one piece of advice that I have for anyone doing this is IF you are on any meds prior to surgery, you know for hypetension diabetes or anything else. Talk to your doc about getting what you can in liquid form prior to surgery. I had to crush everything after surgery and I tell you what you try prozac YUCKY NASTY ooh it was awefull So I was able to get that in liquid, much better. I didn't mind the hypertension stuff and the thyroid meds but I also had to deal with an anitibiotic oh boy double yucky.... I am looking forward to going back to work. I am bored so that do want to eat...but remember they work on your tummy not your head. but i guess if they redo our brains they wouldn't need to do our tummys well thanks for leting me ramble and I will chat at ya later. Debbie

Hi. I took 3wks off and was glad for that extra week because I was tired not because of pain. I was still adjusting to the eating too. Maybe you should have a plan to take off more time if needed.
