How many calories do you get in a day?

After a year out and you are trying to maintain, maybe loose the last few hard-to-take-off-pounds. Just wanted to get the numbers from people. I know it varies from person to person but my nutritionist told me I am not getting in enough calories for the day and I feel that I am eating way too much already. I am a year out and need to take off another 30 pounds. I exercise 2 times a day, about 2 hours a day, 5 times a week, and get in between 1000-1500 calories a day--that's if I really pu**** and I manage to get in at least 100 grams of protein in a day. This feels like I am stretching my pouch and really overeating. I have only been loosing about a pound a week now for the last few months, but am still wanting to loose more. What works for you guys?

I can't believe your a year out. It seems like only yesterday that I was checking your profile daily because you were waiting for approval and then having your surgery. How about an update? I am not a year out. But, my calories are at about 600 a day. Most of that comes from protein bars. Exercise is something I keep planning to do. But, with this new job, I am so tired all I want to do is sleep when I am not at work. But, like Nike says, I just need to do it. Anyway, my point is that I am not burning nearly as many as you are during a day. I think you should try and increase your calories. Doing so might stimulate you into a greater weight loss. And, if it doesn't, then you can always cut back. Would you share what you eat in a typical day? Like you, I am constantly worrying that I am stretching out my pouch. But, compared to others that had surgery the same month as I did, I am typical. Some are eating less than me and some are eating as much as 8 oz a meal. Today my meals were: B: protein bar L: 3 to 4 oz chicken S: protein bar D: 2 oz of steak (barfed up some) and 4 bites of whole grain bread (because I really wanted it) S: 2 oz of steak Hat

Until litigation is over, I am not allowed to update. I typically eat in a day: Before gym-achieveone 120 cal 20 G protein after gym- 1/2 cup cottage cheese with a 1/2 cup strawberries 135 cal 10 G protein Snack -carbsmart yogurt, 3 TBSP cashews, string cheese 320 calories 18 G protein Lunch- 1/4 chicken breast, 3 oz veggies 75 cal 11 G protein before gym- lean body protein bar 320 cal 30 G protein Dinner after gym- 1/4 chicken breast, 3 oz veggies and 1/2 cup strawberries 100 cal, 11 G protein. That makes the total for my typical day about 1070 calories and 100 grams of protein. I stay away from any caffeine and drink water and decaf tea throughout the day.

It will be over when its over. Ya know how these things go. I may not be able to say anything after its all said and done anyways, at least not on this site. I may end up putting it all in a book that my mother is helping me to put together for people that may be considering WLS.

That sucks that you can even say how your feeling or how much weight you have lost. Well, I hope your feeling better and almost at goal. And, when you can talk about surgery, I would love to know if you would support a friend or family member that wanted to have the surgery. Hat

I have lost 120 pounds. I started out at 280 and want to get down to 130. My feelings vary day to day depending on how much pain I am having to deal with on that day. WLS is a personal experience for everyone, but after all the trauma my family suffered after my surgery, after having to have my mother take care of me for 4 months, after her staying day and night with me for 2 additional months in the hosspital and having to be seperated from her teenage children and young grandchildren for all those months and the stress my father was under during this time, as my family lives in a different city, afrther away, as well as the ill health both my parents suffered as a result of all of this trauma from my surgery, there is not a one of them that would even contemplate this procedure now!
