Counting... waiting for Tuesday AM
Okay here it is, less than 30 hours before my surgery. I am trying to all those last minute things. I was huffing and puffing to climb up the stairs to get my laundry done. I was thinking... in few months I won't feel all the strain of carrying my 330 pounds plus the 15 pounds of the laundry or so... at least the strain of all the weight will be less I am hoping.
I have tried to shift to a liquid diet, or at least pureed foods. I am having soup, drinking lots of water and trying to clear my system. I had some of that drink to clean the bowels, and will drink another bottle tomorrow. I want this to be successful.
I am a bit nervous since I have such hard veins to find and starting IV's is sooooo hard - last surgery they ended up inserting 2 IV's one in each wrist. It was hard. This is what is making me most nervous. The surgery doesn't scare me but the IV's - well, that stinks. Please say a little prayer for me that it will go easy.
Any last words of wisdom before my surgery?
I am so excited.....
I had the same surgeon and am assuming you will be at Virginia Mason, you will be well cared for! The epidural is wonderful! I rated my pain as a 1 on a 0-10 scale. I was up walking about every few hours for several laps, which was easy because my pain was so well controlled. Try some visualization while the IV's are placed, it will be over soon! Congratulations and you will be in my prayers.
