WHOA THANKS! So these are recipes that I should be able to handle right after surgery? Also what kind of milk substitute and protein brand do you recomend?

These were things that I was able to do within two to three weeks post op. I have used the Protein powder from Costco but I really did not like the milk based ones. I wanted something tart. I really liked the Nector Brand of protein. They have fruit flavors. I used regualar skim milk, and occationally whole milk as my son was on whole mil****il recently. Anyhow HTH -Gerriann

Hi Kim! The biggest thing that I had a problem with once I came home from the hospital was where to sleep. I tried every bed, couch, and chair in the house and ended up borrowing my sisters recliner. It was the only comfortable spot for several weeks. As far as food goes, that depends on your doctor. He should provide a list of items you can have and for how long. My doctor required that the first 4 weeks be a liquid diet so I lived on water, sugar free popsicles, sf jello, tomato juice (yes, my doctor considered it a clear liquid), and beef & chicken broth. After the first week I was to start adding in protein drinks. I had bought 2 different types before surgery, but my taste buds had changed so much that I could only stand one of them. I would suggest that you order up a bunch of samples to try after surgery to determine which ones will be best for you. I hope that helps. Sending my thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery and a quick recovery. Julia
