GHC requirements not changing!!!

I just talked to GHC customer service about the 6-month weightloss requirement going away. She didn't know what I was talking about. She said that NOTHING has changed. I am so bummed I waited to send in my appeal just to make sure it changed. But it didn't. So now I am sitting here wondering if I should even bother. I have 3 more months before I run out of time to appeal the first denial. I could have 3 months of Weigh****chers under my belt with 3 to go. Are they gonna deny me? Or do I send in the appeal now, get denied, go to Weigh****chers, request an appeal in front of the board, get denied, etc... I am soooooo frustrated. Is there anyone out there who has Group Health who has heard a different story than I have??? Please help! Lori

Hi Lori! I know nothing about GHC, but.... call again and speak to a different rep. No one person knows everything, perhaps you got someone who is misinformed. I did this a lot. BTW, what exactly is the 6 month weightloss requirement? I mean what are the specifics? Hugs and hang in there! Nan

I don't know about GHC but when my insurance company said I had to go on a 6 month supervised doctors diet I sent them a long letter that discribled all the diets and my life long struggle with wait, including all of my physical problems. Suddenly, last week I got an approval and I am going in for a lab band procedure at the end of the month. This struggle started about 6 months ago but I am in now. Don't give up!

I did some checking and found out that they did indeed change the requirements. I sent out my appeal yesterday. Crossing my fingers now! Thanks for the reply! Lori
