Good Morning Washington!!!
Just thought I would pop in to say HI to everyone here on the Washington Board. It's been vewy vewy quiet over here! I would like to see this board become more active. The main board is soooo competitive and gets too hard to keep up with at times. How about we hear from all you recent post-ops to see how y'all are doing? I love hearing how well each and every one of you is progressing on your journey. It gives me encouragement to keep on with my journey of becoming a postie. Take care and stay dry!! Lori
Mashed potatoes and gravy are great. I mix equal parts of each to keep it really thin. I usually make it at home w/FF brown gravy. But, we were out at KFC last week and I was really hungry. They gave me extra gravy so I could mix it down. My husband makes cream of wheat and it is really tasty. The Splenda is no big deal. But, I really like butter on it. I almost choked when I saw how many cals it adds. Enriched milk adds some extra protein in it. Cottage cheese is good too if you like it. For some variety, mix a little bit of FF pudding mix with it. Or, puree it with some yogurt.
I just pulled out my paperwork. Here is the sample menu
B: 1-2 soft cooked eggs, 2 Tbs applesauce
S 4 oz diet instant breakfast with enriched milik
L: 1/2 c LF cottage cheese
S: 4 oz yogurt
D: 1/3 c pureed turkey w/ FF gravy
2 Tbsp pureed peas and carrots
S: 4 oz enriched milk
This comes to 730 cal and 82 grams of protein.
I hope this helps. I hate pureed foods now.
