It feels like food gets stuck in throat!!

I had surgey Aug 27th but developed a leak. After 3 1/5 weeks in hosp. and a month of home care, I can now eat real food. The problem is when I swallow, it feels like it gets stuck and then most of the time I vomit. Im only eating an ounce and chewing the food until its almost disolved. Anyone know what to do??

I would give your surgeon a call. It sounds like you might have a stricture. You don't want to wait until you can't eat or drink anything to have it taken care of if that is what it is. Hat

Teri, I too have had complications (3) and spent most of August in the hospital. My best advice is to not let yourself get too dehydrated or starved. As a result my pouch is more like a new one. I am still mainly on soft foods and must chew until liquid small amounts at a time. Check with your surgeon and also keep trying.

Thanks for responding! I went to the Dr. today and he said to give it another month. BLAH!!
