Support Group; Sumner/Puyallup/Federal Way/Tacoma

Hi everyone. I am looking for a support group. I live in Bonney Lake and am looking for a fun and supportive group somewhere in my area. I have been researching surgery for 2 years now. Originally with Dr. Thirlby at VM in Seattle. I was denied first attempt with Group Health. Then switched insurance carriers and denied again. Gave up hope for about a year and now am persuing this the correct way. I wanted to fight before, but wasn't really ready to I guess. Anyhow, now I have submited all my paperwork and they want one more document and then praying I will get my approval. I have chosen to have surgery with Dr. Hunter at VM in FW, I liked the idea of lap. and Dr. Hunter seemed like a nice guy. Anyway, if anyone out there can point me in the direction of a good group to chat with and lean on some that would be great. My only restriction is I work nights and I need a group that meets on Mon-Tue-Wed, since those are my days off! Thank you everyone. Loretta

Hi Loretta! I attend the support meetings at Michelle & Don Curran's house (aka Vitalady & Vitaguy) in Puyallup. The meetings are held the second adjoining Tuesday and Wednesday of each month around 7pm. For this month that would be the 12th and 13th. HI! I too am going to Dr. Hunter and he is great! My mom had surgery with him also three weeks ago and has said that 'its a cake walk'. Of course, it doesn't work that way for everyone but, he is an excellent surgeon and I couldn't say enough good things about him! Have you been working with the Weight Loss Center too? They are also GREAT!! Anyways, support groups...... The one that I go to and enjoy the people is the first and third Tuesday night each month from 7 to 9 at St. Joes in Tacoma (in the cafeteria) Which actually was yesterday.
