HELP!!!
HI YALL
WELL I AM ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE PESKY PEOPLE LOOKING FOR INFORMATION. I WOULD LOVE TO FIND OUT ABOUT SURGEONS AND HOSPITALS IN TJ MEXICO. ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU HAD YOUR SURGERY IN MEXICO WHO IS DOING YOUR AFTER CARE. I LIVE IN WASHINGTON STATE AND WOULD LIKE TO SCHEDULE THE SURGERY ASAP. I WAS ALSO WONDERING ABOUT THE BROKERS - ARE THEY WORTH THE MONEY? THANKS FOR ANY AND ALL INFORMATION THAT YOU CAN GIVE TO ME
CHRISTIE
Hi Christie, welcome to OH I don't know if your new. What type of insurance do you have? I have medicare and my surgeon is Jeffrey Hunter, he is in Virginia Mason Clinic in Federal Way. I know people who have had surgery by him and all say he is a excellent doctor. I don't know if this help's but good luck! If you look on the message board WAshington state, some one just left for Mexico or is getting ready to go. Tee
I've also heard Spain is a GREAT place to have the surgery. If I had the option I would do it in Spain- the surgeon ther (or at least the most popular) does a duodenal switch with a distal..great for rapid LONG term weight loss....sometimes people who are several years post op find it gets harder and harder to maintain their "goal weight" and with a DS- it's almost unheard of gaining much weight back- on average I think it's like 15 lbs at the most gained back and with RNY it's like 20-40 average ......I don't know much about the surgeon or his practice and all that shabang, but I know I am a bit jelous.....I am so EXCITED to be having any type of weight loss surgery though.
Best of luck to you!

Hi Christie. A close friend of mine had surgery in Mexico although it wasn't TJ. Her doc was really nice. I contacted him because I wanted to surprise her with cards while she was down there. He contacted me right back with mailing info. It impressed me. Her profile page is at http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/profile.phtml?N=S1055113805
I would also suggest checking out the South of the Boarder boards. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/south-of-the-border/posts.html
Just don't forget about us here on the Washington boards.
