I DID IT WITHOUT PEEING OR PUKING! YIPPPEEE!
Today I finished my first 5K run. I did the Halloween Run, organized by Kitsap Track Club. I was so nervous, okay, scared! My biggest worry was NOT, "Will I fall?" (I didn't) Nor was it "Will I be last?" (I wasn't). I wasn't even worried about dropping dead! (Which, obviously I didn't).
My biggest worry was "what do I do if I have to pee while I am out on the streets?" I mean,seriously, I lost sleep over this worry! LMAO!
Anyway, I did it. Now we are planning to do a 5K on Bangor (The Turkey Trot) in November.

Thanks Helen. It did feel pretty great. And just to clarify, I didn't run the ENTIRE time. The course was "moderately" hilly. Up Sheridan to Perry then down Perry to Sylvan and UP Sylvan. So, the hills I did more of a march. Down the hills I literrally ran to make up time. On the flats or fairly flats, I jogged/ran, and then took breaks with power walking. There is no way I could do a complete 5k without some walking time in there. However, I did map out a course with hardly any hills near my home for practice....

Congratulations!!!! I'm so happy for you. LOL - the peeing thing would have been my biggest worry, too!

GH has a monthly support group meeting at the Silverdale location. I also read that every Thursday at 7 pm, I think, there is a meeting in the cafeteria of St. Anthony's in Gig Harbor, near the YMCA and not too far from home (I'm in Port Orchard). I haven't made it to either meeting. Other than that, I'm not aware of any in Kitsap area.
