Got my Pulmonary Specialist Appointment Before Surgery
Between all my doctors and my juggling too, we were able to find a good pulmonologist, "Dr Chen," at the Southlake Clinic. I failed my pre-op breathing test at St. Francis. My lungs were just at 47% capacity. My RNY surgery date is May 21st so I was panicking out because it usually takes a month or more to see a specialist. Thanks to my wonderful family doctor, Dr. Cynthia Cote', and also to Dr. Oh and his staff, Dr. Chen is squeezing me in on May 14th. Dr. Chen called me personally - how often does that happen.....He got me scheduled for a much longer and more complete breathing test, and then a CAT Scan of my lungs, and then the follow-up appointment with him - and all on the same day. So with added luck and prayers I'm going to be very positive thinking that I will still have my RNY surgery on May 21st.
I just want to thank you all for your suggestions, positive thoughts, and ideas. You greatly helped me get through yet another hurdle. I also wanted to bring up these marvelous doctors names - so that if any one else i****ting roadblocks you may have some new resources too. And I've discovered that there is indeedy doo some great, caring wonderful, supportive doctors in the world.
