Finally home from Madigan

I know I don't post here often but I am reaching out to say I'm home from my revision surgery from vbg to rny that was done on Monday.  I am definitely ot bouncing back like I did before.  I didn't have a virgin surgery and there was a ton of scar tissue.  I have an incision with 50 staples whereas my first was 12 staples.  instead of a 90 min operation, I had a 5 hour operation.  so things are different and I am 6 years older.  I'm still wrestling with the emotional side of the surgery...what did I do this for again...maybe I could have found the willpower.  But I was physically sick all the time from the throwing up, etc.

i had a couple of setbacks post op but here I am on the start of day 6. So here are the list of the things I can do:

1.  walk without assistance...
2..  pour my own koolaid
3.  pee on my own = this one was huge

Today I'm going to take a shower.  Finally.

Thanks for listening.  I can feel myself going down the why did I do this to myself again road and posting will help keep me on the straight and narrow.

Hey, chica!  Glad to see you are doing better.  And taking a nice hot shower will make things a million times better, it did for me anyway!  Do you have a drain, one of those little balls?  I just tucked it into my undies, but the shower was a pain in the butt, trying to wash with one hand and hold it.  Washing my hair was interesting.  I think I tried to tuck it under my boob!
Did they weigh you before you left?  I had actually lost 2, but I know most people gain from all the fluids.  I can't wait till you start losing and we can chase each other's numbers!
Well, keep napping and walking and sipping and all that stuff they tell you...I know the head games are going on big time for you right now.  I still have em.  I keep just wanting to eat a big meal to feel satisfied, or cake or cookie dough or pizza...and I keep thinking, 'Well, I could have done it on my own if I really tried, and then I would still be able to eat all that stuff!'  But, obviously, I couldn't, so the surgey was the best thing for me!  I'm at 34 down so far, feeling good!
Keep in touch!
