Has anyone been to any of the water exercise classes at the community pools in the Seattle area/ has your experience been good or bad? Would prefer a class with other bigger people. Also does anyone know what happened to the 1st Thursday of the month, night Virginia Mason support group? Thankyou

I know one of the water exercise class at Rainier next to Rainier Beach High School.

I am moving back to Seattle area from Federal Way so I am considering going there again!

246 in Dec 2008 before banded 1/28/09 at 215 lbs, band crapped 9/09 at 170 lbs and struggled with it and regained to 203 revised to bypass on 8/1/11 and am very happy.

At the VM Support group we had a personal trainer who taught us how to use the elastic bands (the ones with the handles on them).  She showed us how to use them with a partner or alone.

She will come to your home and work with you.  I have her card.. but not with me right now...

Yeah, Rainier Beach Community pool is awesome with Aqua Jogging classes. Never had a bad experience there.  There are people with variety of sizes. (there are at least 3 or 4 very heavyset people)--(the pool has plenty of room for everyone, although! LOL)  Set your own pace and it's a great workout!   Love it there!

Additional note,  in the locker room at Rainier Beach Community Pool, there are at least 2 places  that has curtains, that you can undress or dress in private.   I normally show up with my bathing suit on, under my clothes; then I dress up like everyone else... but when I started out, I was alittle shy, so I took advantage of those privacy curtains or the Handicapped bathroom stall (plenty of room!)
