SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS?
Hello all!
Okay, so I had my RNY on 2/9. I'd like to check out a support group in my area (although I've never been much of a "grouper"). I'm aware of the one at the Silverdale Group Health, as I'm a GH member. Are there others in Kitsap County area that anyone is familiar with?
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in
It knows that it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve.
It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

Even if you aren't a grouper, you might find you'll really appreciate it, at least for the first few month.
Crossing fingers that you're feeling ok and getting better by the day.

I know of 3 WLS surgery support groups in Kitsap county...
There are 2 at Bremerton Naval Hospital
1) first tues at 6 -8 ... there are a few people on the this board that will let you carpool with them to get on the base
2) I think the second one is the 3rd tue or weds at 3:30...
There is one at Harrison - Bremerton at 7pm on the 3rd Tues... its in a room off of the Main Lobby. I have an email I can forward to you if you send me you email address.
Is the Silverdale GHC meeting open to Non GHC patients?

Thanks all for the information. I haven't found anyone who attends the GH meeting. I think I can get on base fine with my credentials, but if not, I will be hitting you up for assistance!

Several of us are many years post-op now, and then there are newbies and all those in between. And this is a very nice group of ppl. That always helps.

P.S. My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
