Pre-Op Today!

So I'm going in for my pre-op today and I was wondering if you had any suggestions of questions I should be asking my doctor today.  ( I wish I had posted this last night, oh well)  I just don't want to miss anything, and you might have an idea or question I can add to my list of questions

Oh Man, Oh Man... I don't think I have EVER wanted time to pass so badly before!

Ok,  ask how he checks for leaks on the pouch, would you need to drink a blue dye test for checking leaks in the pouch? Make sure he knows your allergies!! Will you be sharing a room with someone or a private room? Are you required to stay in the hospital until you have a BM?  What kind of things that would delay the surgery?  (flu, cold?) What kinds of pain management will you provide after the surgery?  (you may need to check to see if your insurance covers those pain med prescriptions  because  when I came home and gave the prescriptions to Walgreens, the insurance would not cover them, the pharmacy had to call the surgeon for substitutes... that kinda delayed my need for pain and/or potassium)    Other than that.... Goood Luck!!!

Oh and bring earplugs to the hosp if you don't have a private room.

I didn't have to worry about earplugs (LOL) (cuz i'm deaf)   but a sleeping mask for your eyes if the light  or the tv or whatever  bothers you when you sleep might help (winks) 

Let us all know how the pre-op went.............I knew mostly what to expect from reading everyone's experiences here on the OH forums..........Dr L is a man of few words................ Gee only a week to go.................. I am hoping to meet you in person one of these days

My pre-op went really well.  And it is just all down hill from here now baby!

Yes, Dr. L is a man of few words, but he went over every one of my questions FIRST and I had two pages of questions.  We then went over all he had to say.  When I first met him, I was a little worried because he has so little to say.  But I'm so happy I stuck with him. 

You know when you smell something really really good and your mouth is jus****ering   Well that is how I feel about my surgery being sooo close now.  Six days and counting....

It's a good thing.....................hope the time goes quickly for you.
