I just LOVE our Washington board!!! I'm sure all the other state specific boards are great but we sure do seem to have a lot of love and help going on here.  Some I know in person, some I hope to meet very soon, and some I may only email with, but I am so happy to have found this board and the friends I have made here.

Ok sappy Shelley is done now  hahaha.

I have to agree with you... This board has been a huge help. I may not ask a lot of questions, but I have learned a lot just by reading others peoples messages. None of my "old" friends have gone through this process, so sometimes it's hard for them to understand what I am doing. I have many new friends that have been there and done that and it's a big help.

Exactly Lisa! I have a few friends that had surgery about 4 years ago, and are doing wonderful, but they dont live even close to me.  I get what I can from them, but my close, as in mileage, friends just dont quite understand it all.  They are happy for me of course and love to see me as I shrink, but they have no clue my day to day dealings with food, protein, vitamins, supplements...well you get the idea  hahaha.  It's really nice to have surgery brothers and sisters who know exactly what I deal with on a daily basis.

I agree with what everyone has said... this has been a great support for me too.

I almost get tears in my eyes when I remember the fun I had at the picnic with the Bremerton Navel hospital support group.  I got to see Cindy.. and it was amazing to see how much weight she had lost.  I was doing my liquid diet... thinking that I will never be able to eat again ... but I saw the other WLS patient's eating... it helped me see for myself what I can eat in a few months.

What has also helped me is all the encourement I have gotten in process of getting approved for WLS... and the weeks before and after my surgery.

I only have one friend who has had WLS... but here I have LOTS of friends to discuss my success and fears with.

Thanks Shelly for this topic.

I agree Shelley!  And from what I have heard about support groups where I'm moving...you guys will STILL be my primary source of support!  That means I'll be here A LOT! LOL.
I have made so many wonderful friends here!  Hopefully most of you will be there on Saturday!!

Hey Shelley...I have to agree with you. This is great place to meet really cool people. I have learned so much on these boards as I prepare for my surgery. It is even cooler when you get to meet them in person! You all have been such inspiration to me.
Thank you so very much!

Me too.  I can't wait to see many of you again this weekend.  I love how we are all here for each other.
