If you are lucky,  you may get a private room, but most rooms are with 2 beds.  I had a room all to myself. They are usually equipped with a recliner -- which is for the patient to get out of bed and sit on that chair/recliner!  I was in longer than the usual designed stay, so my hubby had slept in my bed twice  while I rested on my recliner/ walking around, when he was visiting me alot. I've figured out to move the bed and make room for extra visitors in my room while there are folding chairs in the closet.

I had my surgery done by Dr. Ravi Moonka 3 years ago.  Mine was a revision surgery  done back in 1974.  Because mine was revisonary your weightloss usually doesn't work as well.  I had the gastric bypass done by him.  Unfortunately, I only lost 20 lbs.  However from my previous weightloss surgery I had lost 200 lbs.

The rooms are ok.  Two people to a room.  I thought the staff was excellent.  I just want to wish you good luck.  Dr. Moonka is a very compassionate doctor.  I liked him.

I am now looking to have a lap band put around my gastric bypass for more restriction.  However, there are doctors that do it but my insurance will pay for virginia Mason but

they don't do it there. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmru

Dr Jeffery Hunter who is a Virginia Mason Surgeon ... who practices out of the VM Federal Way clinic does Lap Band Surgery.  He does his surgery at Virginia Mason Hospital.. all the fills are done in Federal Way... with either him doing them or Kat Redmon his physician assistent.
