Hi There, My sister doesn't spend much time on here, but is looking for a support group.  She lives south of Puyallup so anywhere around there would work.

I thought I saw something posted recently.  Does anyone have info that I can pass along?

She had lap band surgery Nov or Dec 2006.

Thanks,

Vitalady has a group, you can send her a pm asking when she has them.  She is very nice and will let you sister sample any of her protein shakes.  She does have one specifically for bandsters.

The Vita Lady bandster one has been discontinued , but the other two meetings there are for any surgery type from any surgeon . Vita Lady & Vita Guy are very very knowledgable about everything Bariatric .

There is also a support group that meets at the Summit library . It is called , Through thick & thin .

We may try another band mtg in Sept. Again we'll do 3 months. If they do not fly, this'll be the last time we do it.

Again, grab the 2nd Tuesday for general mtg. And then the next day, Wed. general mtg. And then for bands, it'll be the NEXT day, Thursday. Not necessarily the 3rd Thurs.

We do them all in a row for staffing and seating.

If ppl want such a thing to happen, they need to attend meetings. LOL

We have general support groups 2nd Tuesday of every month AND the next day. It's not neccessarily the 2nd Wed. They are always back to back, so a good way to remember is to X the 2nd Tuesday on your calendar. If you can't come that night, the next day will be another (we only set up the chairs once). Some ppl attend both. Different crowd, so different topics.

Adult support ppl welcome, children don't work so well.

Those are open to anyone, pre or post-op, any doctor, any time out. I'm 14 yrs, my dh is 13 and we have a few that are up to 10 yrs.

The band meetings were not well attended. However, we agreed to do it in Sept-Oct-Nov, I think. And they'll the the THURSDAY of the same week. We only set up once.

We don't serve food at our meetings. We only offer water, because it's on everyone's eating plan, regardless of doctor, surgery type, or years before/after surgery.

TOMORROW ONLY is a special group. I often refer to the yahoo grad group. This is the 5th year for "grad weekend" when we get together and do stuff like see the sights or just hang out.

ANYONE is welcome, same as above. Surgery type(s)--many of us have had revisions --, doctor, pre-op, just considering........ all are welcome

The one tomorrow (Sat 26th) is pot luck in an open house forum. You don't have to bring food, the regulars make a ton. But if you WANT to bring food. please make sure that it is milk and sugar free, and bring the written recipe for it.

Good chance to meet many people who are near or more than 10 yrs out.

We meet monthly. 2nd Tueday always and the day after. It's not always the 2nd Wed. But follow the 2nd tuesday, and remember we only set up chairs ONCE. Hence the back to back meetings.

Anyone is welcome, surgery type, doctor, in state, out of state.

Tomorrow (Sat) is the big one, with so many here from other states. We do this whopper once/yr. They are fixing mountains of food.

Feel free to bring your support person(s). Not so good for small children---- too many feet.

Anything you bring, if you do, please make it milk and sugar free, AND bring the written recipe.

noon to ???
