Well, we got our base choices today for our PCS...we are moving to Shaw AFB in South Carolina.  Our choice was that or Hill AFB in Utah.  After discussing it and researching it, we decided on South Carolina.  Hey...we'll be 6.5-7 hours away from Disney World!  How fun! Anyway, just wanted to share...now if we can move in October instead of January, driving across the country will be MUCH easier - and faster!

Thanks Christie!

We know all about the south and heat - we lived in Alabama for three and a half years!  I am looking forward to the sunshine and warm weather!! The beaches look really nice there.  Our first Christmas there, we're going to spend at Disney World!!!! I'm SO excited!  We plan to get Annual Passes for Disney World (though they're a bit expensive) and go a couple of times a year..woo hoo!!!

That's great, Annie!  It's got to be a big relief to at least know where you'll be going.  I know you liked being down south before so it sounds like this is a place you'll enjoy.  And being that close to Disney World will be great!!  I agree that moving across country would be much easier in October - I hope that can work out for you...

I know...It would be a lot easier for us to drive from WA to SC - if we go in January, we're going to have to go through California and across the southern US - it would add on 700-800 miles! And yes...WDW...I'm so excited for that - we've only been there once...while we've been to Disneyland many times...it will be fun to see and get to know the other park!

Hey Bev,

Good to see you here!  I am having problems getting protein..>I have to drink the isopure - the other stuff makes me barf!  The only times I have thrown up it's been from the protein! Unfortunately the isopure is so expensive!!!  Thankfully I can now buy it by the case from Vitalady - it's a tad cheaper that way than buying from the Vitamin Shoppe in Olympia.

YAY Annie, glad you finally found out where you are going.  I've never lived in SC but visited many times at different times of the year and loved it!  And being close to Disney World is an added bonus, much closer than Utah would have been for sure.

I know at some point I'll have to move somewhere not close to the ocean, but I won't if I can help it!!! Utah would just be TOO landlocked for me, and you know, I don't care for snow that much.  I mean it's pretty BUT I don't like lots of it...the amount we get here is just fine, anywhere with more - ummm...no thank you!  I have never in my life lived more than three hours from the ocean (well, in Alabama I lived about three hours from the Gulf of Mexico, but that's ocean enough for me!)

Hopefully we'll find out next week WHEN we'll be going...and hopefully we can get it for mid-late October!

Oh I love South Carolina!!!  Savannah and Charleston and the beaches and the seafood....   hmm  I miss the south.  Maybe you will see me there next year, we are having a family reunion either in Florida or N Carolina.  Your move will be so much easier too cause you will be practically skinny by then.  LOL
