UPDATE: Lump in breast
Ok..... so some of you knew I had an appointment today....some may not of but I still wanted to give everyone the update! So I went to the doctor today to have a lump checked out that I found in my right breast Sunday night. And soo...they were like immediately we have to get you in...(they did not mess around with this at all---Tricare actually called me back, and the nurse at family practice as well).
The doctor immediately found the area of concern without me even having to tell him where it was. He too was concerned and so I have an Ultrasound scheduled for Friday at 1 pm and then I have to go see a breast specialist as well. The breast of concern has always been larger than my left one but it is even more noticable now.
So after the ultrasound it will take a few days (plus the weekend) to get the results. I haven't told my husband about this yet though....because I really didn't want to stress him out and have him worried if its nothing. This is the last thing he needs to deal with while in Iraq. So you ladies are going to be the ones I share this with, unless the results are bad.
So.... let's pray for a good ultrasound!!!
Brandy
Well what is your family history? Lumps are very common and at your age it is probably a benign tumor or cyst. The women in my family are very lumpy. LOL You are making a wise decision on waiting to tell your hubby you are right he doesn't need the stress, and you can share anything with us good or bad. I will be a single lady myself here in less than a week, so I am free all evenings and most weekends.
Take care and I will say a little prayer for you tonight.

I'm so glad you didn't just blow this off, and decide wait on your own. I know waiting for results will be hard, so make sure you let us help you through it.
I noticed a lump and some discoloration about a month after my RNY. I too went in right away. After the test results came back benign, they suspected I had received trauma in the OR. (Apparently they'd had to strap those puppies out of the way!) , I had to go back in 2 months, and the lump had shrunk considerably, and now is gone. I'm hoping that yours is something similar since it is around the same time frame as when I found mine.
Take care!
Ladies,
Thank you for all the support and encouraging words. It was so hard not to tell my husband on the phone last night because he kept asking what was wrong...why did you have to go to the doctor, etc. He just seems to sense things you know.
Heck...it was he who told me to go to the doctor when we found out that I had skin cancer 2 years ago in August. But I am confident that this lump is nothing....
lol... in fact when went in to see the doctor... I told him that I was going to give him my "medical opinion" then he could give me his. He was quiet amused and could tell I had definately put some thought into it. So I told him that the reason I was here was either
1. I have lost so much weight in my breast and cup sizes that its extra fatty tissue built up....
or
2. I lost so much weight that we are just now finding it.
So I am just staying positive and not thinking the worst, because I really don't believe it is cancerous.
So I just pray.

Hi Brandy,
I am going through something similar. A lump was found at my last mamo. I have had the ultrasound and the biopsy, no cancer..YEAH, my frustration comes from having to have the breast reduction put on hold. I am back to the doc on 5/7 to get the info to either have the lump removed then the reduction or to be able to move straight to the reduction. I am hopeful that everything will turn out fine. I just sucks because I have waited for many years to get the approval for the reduction. Now that my insurance has finally agreed to pay for the surgery..now this.
Take care and let us know how things turn out~
