I haven't heard from Bev in awhile and wondered how she's doing.  So Bev, fill us in or if anyone else knows how she's doing, I just want to make sure she's doing well

Hey all, Bev is out of town till next week. She is visiting her father in Mississippi I believe. His wife passed away and Bev wasn't able to make it to the funeral because she was barely post-op so she has gone to spend some time with him. She is doing good. We had lunch last Sunday and went to see a movie last Saturday.  She is a little discouraged with slow weight loss but She is hanging in there. And doing great in my opinion. When she gets back I am sure she will chime in. Brandy

Thanks so much Brandy for the update.  I get that way from time to time, the slow weight loss, but I know it will come as long as I keep working my tool, and it will for her too.  Congrats on your own weight loss girl, that's awesome! Bev when you are back and read this I'm so sorry for your families loss.

Ackk don't say shakes... making me sick these days they are.  I have to find something new ~again.  I tried to eat some chicken for dinner tonight. 4 bites and I was unsomfortable, 20 min later *sigh* getting tired of puking any time I try and eat meat.  Not having a problem with other stuff.    Not sure what is going on, have a dr appt on friday.  We will see.  Was Annie saying she needed to get scoped soon?  Do you know when?

I have a friend that is a few years out that is needing to lose about 20 lbs and she found a shake she showed me and I LOVE it!  It's like this.... 1 cup ff milk 1/2 scoop vanilla whey protein 1/2 scoop tang I pkg of splenda ice Blend in a blender and enjoy.  It tastes very much like orange sherbert or a creamsicle.  I usually stick with my grape Isopure but I have this one now and then so I don't get burned out on them. As for meat, it depends on the day for me, sometimes I can handle it, others not so much. And what's this about Annie? I feel bad, I had no idea???

Hello, Don't mean to jump in and stick my nose in your post, but I see that you had RNY in March am I right? If so WHY are you doing sit ups this early out? I am gonna be your new adopted mom here and this is what I am yelling at you...CAN WE SAY HERNIA!!! Please, Please NO SIT UPS yet.    I don't give a hoot who tells you its OKAY to go head and do sit ups. I know everyone is different, but we all can get hernia's and it can be just bending over and picking a toothpick off the floor or just by washing the toilet.  Please wait until your at least 6 months post before you do any type of exercise, all you really need to do right now is walk...You had a major surgery done, your body will take 6-12 months to heal INSIDE, just because you feel great and your all healed up outside doesn't mean you are all honky dory on the inside. Walking everyday, 25-30 minutes will be great, you will be surpirsed how fast the weight will come off and how strong your abdominal muscles will get, also when you walk suck in your stomach it will make them muscles stronger. I start out 6 weeks after my RNY going to the gym doing everything I could to lose the weight and build up my muscles, and guess what? Yep got the hernia in the belly button, then over the years ended up with over 10 of em in my belly, soooo Please honey wait, having the hernia's hurt more then the surgery and there is a chance you can get adhesions and let me tell you those hurt way more then giving birth, have open rny, or having hernia's.. Ok mom is done *iching..... Now go drink some water, get your protein in and go for a nice 30 minute walk... Hugs Terri AKA your new mom

Terri, Thanks for the advice. Well my doctor was stressing the importance of exercise so I started going to the gym. I tried the sit-ups but my body TOLD ME NOOOO! So I did immediately stop and haven't tried them since. I haven't started running yet. I usually do 3 miles on the elliptical or 30 minutes, then I do some arms (light lifting), and then finish with either a 1 mile walk on the indoor track or  30 minutes on a bike. Not the tall one, but the one you sit down nice and comfortable and can adjust your distance from the pedals.  I hope that is ok at least what I am doing. I love going to the gym because I get free childcare, and the use of the gym is free, so its a win win....some free time from the little one and mommy gets some peace and quiet....working out. Ok...maybe we will say an un-interupted workout. Thanks, Brandy
