How long out of work

Hi everyone-I have a question for the bandsters-How long were you out of work?  One week-two weeks-3weeks?  I really would like to know. Thanks

Hi, Julie - I'm a RNY-er, but think the recovery is probably similar.  I was back to work 11 days after my surgery.  I had lap RNY 12/6 and went back to work 12/17.  I have a desk job in a pretty low key office and had absolutely no problem returning to work then.  I really would have been ready to go back at one week after surgery.  I did have a lifting restriction for the first 6 weeks after surgery, but that was all...  I think it all depends on the type of work you do.

I would post this on the Lap band forum as well if you haven't already.  But the people that I know who have had it are back to work the next day, a couple of them were out 3 days. 

I am a school bus driver and while I spend a good portion of the day sitting, it is still physical enough that my Dr will not let me go back to wor****il around 3 weeks post op which will be sometime next week.
