Dr Rush-Madigan??
I am so sorry that this happened to you, and so thankful that you are alive and well! I heard about your story from your friend Christy. I met her for the first time just a few days after this happened to you. Christy had come to my house with my niece to pick up some tables for a girl scout funtcion, and while chatting I discovered that she had had Gastric Bypass 10 months ago (and lost 120 pounds). Then I discovered she had my surgeon (Dr. Carter) and the same surgery I am going to have (Open on the 28th of April). We both agreed that we felt more comfortable with the doctor being able to see everything on our insides while performing this major surgery. I am not against Lap surgery, just not comfortable with it. And we all know the risks we take with any kind of elective surgery, and this is a major elective surgery with many risks involved. Still I was shocked that any doctor could have had this accident. I am thankful that they were able to repair the vein and that you are alive and recovering. Your incision will heal with time and you will have the opportunity to have the surgery you have wanted. Keep a positive attitude and let your body heal. It will be better the next time.
Gentle Hugs! Fran
