OT: Anyone know a good mechanic??
I wouldnt trust that either, even some lil mom and pop mechanic shops will give you a written estimate. I wish I knew of one hun, but (thankfully) we haven't needed one since we got here. I will however ask my friend who grew up here and that has parents who live here too and see who they might know. They live near Olympia though so they might only know of ones in that area, but I will email her now and see what I can find out.
Hi Annie,
My husband works for Walts Auto Care in Olympia. You could take your car to him to look at for you and I know he will be honest with you. His name is Ray and you should tell him who you are and that I sent you. If you don't want to drive all the way, go to the Walts in downtown Puyallup. They have a mechanic who is an excellent transmission guy if you need it. Ray said to ask the manager to call him at his shop and he will set it up for you. Also he said if the other company wouldn't give you a written estimate they are not a very reputable company and you should be cautious. Good luck. I know how it is to go into an auto repair shop as a woman and get that look.
