Hi Fellow Wa****onians! WE SURVIVED the December 2nd hurricane! MAN! I live right on the water on the coast and I will tell ya....I do not EVER want to go through that again. What a nightmare~! We had 130 mph winds with 85-90 sustained for over two days and I can't believe we are still here~! Never saw anything like it before. My nerves were shot by the time the wind finally stopped yesterday and I'm just beginning to feel normal again.. How did everyone else do? Let us know how you are doing...and how it affected you.

I survived.  I had to leave my house in Mason Co. at 5 am on Mon to go to Seattle , it was VERY windy and lots of standing water, I took hwy 3 to Bainbridge to catch the ferry, What would normally take about 1 hr 45 min. took 2 hr 15min which I didn't think was to bad, on the way home I got off the ferry at 3:30 and didn't get home til 7:30 it was awful, Yesterday I had my 1st dietrician appt. and it looked like a war zone, I think if I could have seen how bad it was I never would have gone to Seattle, after watching the news and seeing the roads I traveled Mon. Its amazing I even made it there. But I Survived.

Hi Cindy, Yeah, I'm just glad we survived and are counting our blessings. There are so many out there who are in big trouble. Roofs gone and floods. It's really bad and I thank God it didn't get REAL bad for us. I'm so glad to hear you made it and that inconvenience was the worst! How'd it go with your nutritionalist?

So glad to hear things are OK at the coast - you sure had a horrific time!  I hope there are no serious injuries or damages down your way...  Being up here in Tacoma, we missed all the worst of it.  Sure, traffic is bad in the areas where there is still flooding, but that's only a minor inconvenience for us.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and all in your area as you recover from all the storm damage... ~Nancy~

Very glad to hear those who made it through, I can't even imagine what you guys went through.  Like Nancy I live where it wasn't too bad, just a lot of rain and some wind, but nothing to really complain about in my immediate area anyway.

Glad you guys are okay out there.  It was pretty wet and windy here in Mukilteo, but not nearly like what you went through.  Other areas around us though like in Mill Creek and Bothell were flooded pretty bad.  Just glad it is over.

Glad you guys came through it well.   My mom and grandparents (and a bunch of other family) live in Astoria...they are still out of power and have been since Sunday...today was the first day I was able to get through on the phone lines.  My brother's dad was over visiting and he got stuck there because of the roads.  They didn't start selling gas again until this morning at 5am...and apparently there was quite a line up for it too.   It's been really hard on my mom...she can't sleep with her CPAP machine...and so she's not sleeping well or very long...which makes the nights a whole lot longer - especially when you can't do things like turn on the TV.  My mom said it was scary...she could feel the building moving and shaking in the wind...I'm just glad I finally got a hold of them and found out they're doing alright (not great by any means since they can't shower or eat much). Here though, we didn't get much...we didn't even lose power...just some wind and lots of rain. ~Annie

I'm so glad to hear that all of you are okay.  We got lucky here - the winds weren't too bad and we just missed most of the flooding.  We live in Rochester off Exit 88 on I-5, so we're the last exit before the freeway is closed, and live about 1/4 mile before state route 12 that we take from I-5 to get home is closed due to flooding and mud slides just past our house, so we were able to make it home.  We can hear the helicopters rescuing stranded people from the valley that is about 1/4 mile down the back road we live on.  In fact today I was home sick and could actually see the copters hovering over homes and watch the baskets go up saving people.  Very eery and humbling when you know people are stranded and in danger so close to your house that's fine and had minimal flooding.  On the first night, we spent a few hours leading people from Exit 88 through the back roads to get past the freeway closure so they could get back on the freeway farther south to get home, but then the water breached the dike and we couldn't go back through the town and use that route to help anyone else.  All the other back routes were blocked after that.  Luckily, we were at a part of the freeway that they had opened up just to help alleviate some traffic (the flooding was just beyond that exit), so we were able to get home on the dry stretch of freeway back to our highway. I hope everyone stays safe and makes it through.  It's supposed to be dry weather for a few days, so hopefully that helps.  My prayers go out to all the people who have damage, can't go home or have been stranded during this disaster.

Glad to hear you are doing well in Rochester!  What a lot of devastation down your way...  Hard to believe the pictures on the news, but I know they're real...   That's great that you were able to help some of the folks find their way home on the back roads!  We were sure spared up here in the Tacoma area.  Thoughts and prayers definitely go out to those affected - and those doing the rescue work! Puyallup, on south Hill, we're fine. Our road is sometimes closed for awhile, but not this time. I saw some flooded homes in DT Puyallup, though, same elevation as the fairgrounds, just not as well graded, I guess. Very sad.

I love, love, love the coast and I think really brave that I wouldn't be scared out there, but 130 MPH! OMG!
