Still get my surgery, have to be on full liquids until then
Well I'm finally out of the hospital, it has been a really long 8 days. I was on clear liquids for the first 5 days and then full liquids these last 3 days. I still get to have my surgery, all my providers feel it is the best thing for me. The only crudy part is that I have to be on full liquids until my surgery with is not until August 28th.
So I hear you guys complaining about a 10 day liquid diet, try a full month. I am more then prepared for it because this life saving surgery is so important to me. Cream of tomatoe soup, cream of chicken soup, broths, Diabetic Boost, SF Jello and Pudding, crystal ligh****er, smoothies and more water are going to be my friends for the next month.
It will not be easy by any means but, it is a challenge I am willing to take. And so you understand I have to be on the liquids because of the pancreatitis, if it flares up between now and the surgery, they will have to put the surgery off. One thing I am not willing to do is let my surgery be put off any longer.
Thanks for all your support and encouragement as I start this final leg on my way to the loser's bench.
P.S. Just wanted to tell those that I got to meet at the Support Group how great it was to meet you and put a face to a name.

Michelle, hugs!!! I'm so glad you are out of the hospital and got such excellent care. Can you tolerate any sf popsicles (or even regular?)? They count as clear liquids and yet feel like a solid food in your mouth. Any little trick to help with getting through the liquid phase is worth trying. You hang in there and if you need to vent about the liquids come right on over here and vent, we are here to listen.
Hang in there!!! I'm so happy that your surgery hasn't been postponed and knowing that you have to stay on the liquids in order to keep the pancreatitis at bay should be a helpful motivator.
