Boeing Traditional effective July 1st
Hiya!
We had Selections which wouldn't cover anything. Switched to Trad at the start of 2007. They covered everything so far minus copays for the pre-op labs & exams. My surgery was on 6/7/2007.
Approval takes "5 pieces of paper", basically 5 years of being 100 lbs overweight or more than twice your recommended weight. It doesn't have to be 5 consecutive years, just 5 documented examples over a 5 year or longer period. Your doctor's charts of your weight are great, but anything from specialists you've been referred to work also. So long as it covers 5 years that's about it for Traditional.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the info! Like you, I've currently got Selections but will begin Traditional on July 1st. I have an appointment with my pcp on July 2nd, and have a sleep apnea tesat for the 27th of this month (surprisingly Selections covers this!). Anyway, I was wondering if you could be approved prior to seeing your bariatric surgeon. I don't get to see him until July 31st. I noticed you had an RNY. That is what I'd like to have as well. How are you doing with that?
Thanks so much for the "5" tips! I think I can provide that with no problem. I'm so glad to hear from you, thanks again for your post! Please let me know how you're doing and if you're happy with the RNY.
Thanks again,
Debbie

(hope that helps) Tony...
I have not gotten "pre-approval" however they told me that I qualify and it should not be a problem.
