Dr. Egrari vs. Dr. Dry for plastics?

Hi everyone, I have had consults with both Dr. Dry and Dr. Egrari and they both seem wonderful. They are both experienced and their picture books look great. The price is almost exactly the same for the Lower body lift with hernia repair that I need. The big difference seems to be that Dr. Dry does his surgery in the hospital and then you stay there overnight and Dr. Egrari does it in his surgical center and then you go home that night. He recommends using a home health care nurse the first night at home. I can see benifits to doing it both ways. The other factor is timing. Dr. Egari can get me in much sooner and since I have a hernia to repair that could be important. If I want this early date I have to reserve it asap by putting down a non refundable deposit so I have to decide right away. Does anyone have experience with either of these local plastic surgeons? If so, I would love to hear about it. Thanks, Laura

Laura, I don't know either doctor but if it were me I would want at least one night in the hospital. Best of luck. Susan

Thanks for your reply! I am actually leaning toward Dr. Egrari after discussing it with my PCP. While I was there we found a new hernia that is more dangerous than the old one so time is of the essence and she felt okay about the surgery center after I assured her that Dr. Egrari only uses MDs for anesthesia. I'm still really scared to commit to the surgery but I think I would feel that way with either surgeon. It's just one of those things I wish I didn't need. Thanks again, Laura

Same here. With any major surgery, I would definitely want to be in the hospital. Just seems safer. My friend just had her LBL and was very thankful to be in the hospital after. Good luck with your ps! I don't know either surgeon, sorry. K

Thanks for your reply! This is a tough decision but it turns out that I have a new hernia that is more dangerous than my big one so I will probably go ahead and take the first date offered. I know both surgeons are excellent. So I don't think I can really go wrong. I just wish I didn't need surgery in the first place. I guess if wishes were horses, I'd need to build a big stable . Thanks again, Laura

Hi, Laura, I can highly recommend Dr. Egrari. Three and a half years ago, Dr. Egrari performed a breast reduction on me (took over 6 lbs off). He was highly professional...can't say enough about him in that department. I found him on a breast health website under "physicians we like" link. I was elated that he was so close to my home in downtown Kirkland. Since my surgery, when I've had mammograms, the technicians have asked who the doctor was who performed my surgery because they had never seen such an excellent reduction job. This summer I had a mammogram and breast x-ray...the radiologist came in and told me that he hadn't seen such perfect breasts (from a radiological perspective) in over a month and that I would never have to worrry about getting breast cancer due to the makeup of the tissue. After I've had wls, I plan to see him for any plastic surgery I might need for loose skin. Hope this info helps you! Cathy
