My best friend lives in Seattle and has recently become unemployed. In her job search she will be taking into account what insurance companies and coverage is offered with potential positions as she very much wants to get the band. Can anyone tell me what insurance companies in Washington cover the band? Which ones exclude them entirely (her last one did). Many thanks, Caeli

I would start with the Insurance Forum on here. You might find some answers there. Good luck! Lori

Hi Caeli! I have Regence and was self pay only due to an exclusion. Typically, they cover. Teamsters seems to cover and some Pacificare I hear. Aetna seems good and Group Health covers rny, so probably the band as well? Tell her good luck! I'm happy for her! Kim

I was told by Regence that Lap Band is to new so they wont cover it as well as most other insurances. Once it's been better evaluated, they probably will cover the band since it is less expensive.
