I wish I was post op
Hello everyone. I feel like I already know everyone because I have been on this board for so long but never posted. I joined again last month because I couldnt remember my old login and password.
I found this site several years ago when I first started looking into surgery. There was no way I could afford the surgery back then but now Im ready. Just a few months back, I had resigned to paying cash for it and my goal was to have it done before the end of the year. then I ran into a posting here which someone said that PEBB state employees would be covered. And lo and behold, its true...with stipulations of course. So now I have put it off until I can try to use my insurance. If I cant get them to pay for it, then I will go back to my original plan of paying for it myself. My problem is that I dont want to wait. I am antsy.
Is there anyone else here who plans on trying to get Uniform medical to pay for their surgery next year? They are apparently going to require some type of case management so I have been bugging them already about getting that part started. They told me they dont have any info on it yet and to call back next month. I prefer to get that part out of the way and then be scheduled for surgery at 12:01 AM on January 1st!!!
If there is anyone else out there who is going to attempt this, or knows what I can do to put some of this pre req stuff out of the way, let me know....
PS: I did the full day Wish eval a few years ago, to the tune of $2000 but had no way to go through with the surgery at the time. They billed me once, tried to get my insurance to pay (which they wouldnt) then I never got another bill. Do you think it has just disappeared? Im inclined to think so but I wonder if its going to come back to haunt me after I get my surgery somewhere else.
I , too , have Uniform . I was scheduled for surgery when Uniform decided they would be covering WLS . I had gotten all my tests & classes done . I figured if I waited it would cost me close to a year of time . So , I self paid . I am just two weeks out now . I am happy for the people who will be able to get surgery , now , that couldn't . Did they mention a supervised diet . Most insurances do that . I know it seems like a long ways away , but it'll go quickly . Kathy
