Looking for a GP in the Vancouver Area

I am looking for a General Practitioner who has experince with GB patients. I seem to be running into a problem where mine has NO IDEA of what to do or help me with and I no longer live in the area where I had my surgery. I need help!! I'm 5 years post opt and I feel like the problems I'm having should be addressed but my own Dr is useless. She has reffered me to other people who have taken me MONTHS to get an appointment to, only to have them CANCEL. I seem to go into cycles, i'm ok for a few months, then I can't keep anything down and I'm exhusted ALL the time. I'm just tired of feeling crappy and like no matter what I eat I can't keep it down. My fiance' is worried and concerned, and I'm worried and concerned and I'm at a loss. I didn't have health insurance from 8 months after surgery until just last september and now I need some guidance. I'm also looking to get my "EXTRA" removed. HELP!!!

If I were you, I would make the trip to see Dr. Weber. Sounds like something your surgeon needs to address, especially if you can't keep anything down. But that being said, hopefully your current doctor is helping you with the other stuff that isn't related to your GB. Otherwise I would find a new doc and hopefully someone here who lives close to you can suggest someone. Good luck to you sweetie! Lori

My surgeon, Leslie Cagle, is fantastic - I suggest you try to get an appointment to see her. I know that they have recommended to me a pcp named Messing - or something like that, but not having big issues with my own (yet), I didn't follow up on finding another primary care doctor. At any rate, I'll bet if you call Dr. Cagle's office (talk to Ann Link, her nurse) and explain your problem, they will either make an appointment for you to see Dr. Cagle or refer you to the PCP that they recommend.
