Wow, it's almost the end of June already! Where did the time go? Seemed to fly right by! I hope summer doesn't do the same! I am walking today in this beautiful weather! Hopefully I don't melt... Michelle did ya melt yet?? I am going to take a water bottle with me this time. Don't want to get dehydrated! How is everyone else handling this heat? I have 4 fans going in my house at all times. We had basketball games last night so we had to button up the house. OMG!! It was about 200 degrees in there when we got home! Well probably not 200 but at least 120! I felt so badly for my animals. I have been leaving my bedroom door open with the fan on and the window open for them. It's much cooler in the back of my house where my room is. When I come home, both dogs are laying on my bed, sprawled out with the fan blowing on them! Smart! Thanks for all your kind words. You are all so supportive of me and everyone else. I feel like this board has been revived a bit because of all of you! When I first signed up for OH, this board was pretty busy. But eventually, people quit posting. I miss the regulars who used to post here. Nancy and Arlene seem to be the only two left who post anymore. Where did Renee, Rachel, Kimmanne, and anybody else I missed, go? Probably enjoying their new skinnier bodies!!! Let's keep this board going strong. Keep posting your success and your failure if need be. We need each other in our struggle to get healthier. I love hearing from you all, good or bad. So that being said, what are you going to do to move your butts today? Stay cool and hydrated and enjoy this B-E-A-utiful weather!!! Lori 281/170/140

Hi Lori! OH! You look sooo good - I like your new pick! So close to goal are you!! I have only a little while to post this afternoon. This last weekend my gfs and I went to coeur d alene to volunteer for the Ironman Triathlon. I am still reeling for all I saw and experienced. The participants were amazing! So many stories. I am in awe and inspired. For those of you who don't know, and Ironman is... 2.5 mile swim 114 mile bike ride 26.2 mile run ... completed inside of 17 hours. We watched a woman com in with 10 seconds to spare! It was simply amazing. I still need time to digest all I witnessed. If you have the chance to go and cheer at an Ironman - DO! The obvious question is staring me back in the face, challenging me. Not answering just now, but thinking HARD! So... I gained 2 lb while I was gone... I'm at 139. NO complaints. For exercise... I danced for like 5 hours on Friday night! HA!! Then sprinted for several (5+) hours on Sunday handing out fluids to the athletes on bikes. You have to run next to the cyclist to hand off! I was WHOOPED and all I did was pass ou****er! HAHA! Today I swim, prolly .75 miles, then bike. Don't have a distance planned, yet - hoping for 20. Back to normal eating, back to normal routine. Still determined to wiggle myself back down to 135. Thanks for reading! Nan

Nan- how great!! I cannot wait to be able to have posts like that! I want so badly to go in a walk-a-thon and not be totally embarrased- my goal You all give me such great hope! Where is the exercise post for today and yesterday? I ACTUALLY exercised two whole days in a row!!! You all are giving me serious energy to get out there and move my booty!! We did a 2 hr hike through trails yesterday, up hills, lots of tree branches and stumps to push and lift our 2 seater jogging stroller through but I made it! and today I managed to jump on the treadmill for 15 whole minutes at 3.2mph. That is a complete and total task for me since I haven't been on that thing in almost 2 yrs! we spent alot of money on it, time to get its use in! My main excuse is the kids and I actually got them both down for naps at the same time for 1/2 an hour! Okay well just had to tell someone, thanks for letting post! Elizabeth

2 hour hike! That's fabulous! Pushing a stroller gets you mega extra points! Your tread mill time is fab too! I know what you mean, sometime what you accomplish in a workout is not *just* the workout. Every workout holds something different for me - conquering a fear, ignoring my selftalk, changing my selftalk, ignoring what I think others might think, telling something it is not boss over me... or moving the clothes draped over a piece of expensive equipment, blowing off the dust and actually using it! AWESOME! KUDOS! You keep on posting - bragging rights are a wonderful part of moving your body. I LOVE to read about what others are doing, rejoice with you, celebrate victories and accomplishments! These are big things we are doing! Physically and emotionally. Think of what we are doing for our kids... an active mommy! Fab. ps. you know ***I*** did not do the Ironman, right. I just went and handed ou****er to the athletes!!

I meant to comment on your goal for a walk-a-thon. I can help you find one and set it as your goal! Last year we did the Walk From Obesity - http://www.walkfromobesity.com/locationmap.php They do not yet have any information on the local one. Go to a running store - i know that's tuff, but it so much fun to see all the events. EVERYONE starts somewhere. Starting is sooooo impressive. What you are looking for is a FUN RUN. Most events have them. Sometimes they are called a family run. Sometimes a walk. Rarely a walk tho. But Fun Run usually are inteded for walkers. Here's a list of some events in Aug... http://www.active.com/search/index.cfm?search_criteria=&user_id=0&zip=wa&themonth=8&sport=7&event_dma=0&maxrows=10 I suggest picking a month, a distance, and a freind to train with... then find an event that matches your goals! I'll help. Training for events is what keeps me moving. Blessings! Nancy
