Hi Viv! Thanks for the reply. I had my appt. with the surgeon today at Dartmouth. Surgery is scheduled for Thursday September first. This has been quite a long process. Where would you have surgery? how much planning have you done? Maybe we'll see more people from VT soon... Stephanie

I knew that I wasn't the only one....I'm 8 months out and have lost 111 pounds...Boy do I feel better! Allee

Hi... Good to hear from you. I have lost around 150 pounds and waiting for plastics. Have been for a consultation and now the waiting process. Seems like I am always waiting. Good weight loss I feel a lot better but have had a lot of complications but try to over come them. Have a good day, Betty

Hello Fellow Vermonters - I too lurk around this board and I'm from Rutland area! Just had RNY 3 weeks ago! Congratulations Stephanie on your date! Dartmouth's program is long but a good one. I went through it a couple of years ago, got freaked out for a while and then made a concrete decission and went to Boston and had my RNY. There program was much faster took 3 months to complete and I had it Laproscopic. I feel great! Good Luck! Nice to see other Vermonters! Melissa A

Hi Stephanie and others, I am in the Burlington area, and am in the pre-approval stage. I'm very committed to having the surgery,and am working with chosen provider on getting insurance approval. I heard less than wonderful things about the Burl. physician, although I do know several people who used her and are very happy with the results. I checked out Dartmouth but it feels like it will take forever to get approved. I finally decided that I really like what CORI did/ said/ provides/ whatever, so I am working with them. When I get approved I will actually have the surgery in Long Island. Not exactly convenient, but, hey, being obese is not exactly convenient, either!! I'm glad to see people are out there and responding to your email, Stephanie--I tried a few months ago and didn't hear much, so this is great to know there are other Vermonters. I'd love to hear about pre and/or post support groups that are not affiliated with the Burlington provider, if anyone knows any. Thanks to all! Joan
